Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Eternal Polar Blue Ink

This scan was done on an HP Deskjet F4280 at 600dpi.
Note: Because these scans are done with a light emitting printer, actual colors will, more likely than not, be slightly darker than they may appear, here. The colors shown, here, are probably a bit more reminiscent of what the ink would be like under a bright light or if it were held up and viewed with a light behind it.

Inking of Autumn

"Oh, Noodler's Golden Brown...shades so well, looks so good in both round and italic nibs. Currently residing in this 1.1 mm stub-nibbed TWSBI Mini, the Golden Brown and the black and clear of the Mini body contrast well.
Truly, though, this ink looks good in just about any pen. (Or, rather, looks good coming out of the pen!)"

My review of Noodler's Golden Brown ink can be found here.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Firefly Yellow Highlighter Ink

This week, for our final yellow ink review in November, we have a special ink, which can be used in fountain pens and refillable highlighters, alike. However, I would not recommend writing with this one, unless your reader has a black light by which to read it! (I did test, and it is UV-reactive.)

Below, I have included both the original scan and a digitally-darkened scan to showcase this ink.

I hope you enjoyed our month of yellow inks! If you have any suggestions for new inks to review, please feel free to submit them via the "Questions or Comments?" tab, above, or via this link.

Three of four for yellow inks in November! Be sure to look for next Thursday's post, where we review a special yellow ink.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Qin Shi Huang Ink

Unfortunately, the scanner is showing this ink much lighter than it appears in person.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Baystate Blue Ink

At last - a review of the infamous Baystate Blue ink! Were it not for the various downsides of which one hears (such as the ink dissolving parts within the pen, which I have seen happen though not to my pens), this would be an amazing blue to recommend. I personally use it in a dedicated pen, just in case of any issues.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Bad Black Moccasin Ink

Another installment from the "Warden's Ink Series," Bad Black Moccasin contains properties that help make it more forgery-proof than the standard fountain pen ink.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noolder's North African Violet Ink

While I only had a small sample of this ink and could only capture its looks in one pen, I feel that the Konrad captures the absorbency and slight shading of this ink, well.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Violet Ink

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Polar Black Ink

Intensely black and very waterproof, this ink can survive freezing temperatures...in case you happen to be sitting outside in freezing temperatures, while writing.

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Purple Martin Ink

I know, I know, I have now featured two purple inks in a row as a part of Stained Fingers on Thursday, but I wanted to share the full reviews with all of you, since I had revealed all of these various purple shades, during my search for a replacement of Montblanc Lavender purple (click here to read that article).

This week, the ink is Purple Martin by Noodler's. A purple martin happens to be a type of bird, the largest variety of North American swallow:

Noodler's Purple Martin ink is nearly as vibrant as this bird's plumage!

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Purple Wampum Ink

This is wampum, traditional shell beads of the Native Americans, which were often used as currency:

And this is Noodler's Purple Wampum ink, decorative, like beads:

Stained Fingers on Thursday - A Review of Noodler's Purple Heart Ink

With the dry time as fast as it is, I find it odd that this ink bleeds through the paper in places. For me, that is a big negative, as I am not always writing on the heaviest of papers, especially at work. What are your thoughts on the color and how it behaves?
